El pueblo Guna reconoce como la religión oficial la de Ibeorgun, por ser el principal profeta Kuna, que vino a enseñar el modo de vida que tenía que seguir, según Paba y Nana, como seres superiores e inseparables.

La cosmovisión guna consiste en elementos espirituales y materiales, ambos son inseparables como los espíritus y la realidad material, los dos presentes en todos los ríos, mares, montañas, cerros, bosques y las rocas, por la cual los llamados "Galus" son respetados estrictamente, como asentamientos específicos de espíritus localizados en cualquier lugar pero invisibles a cualquier vista de ser humano común. Existe un Galu para todo ser, para las culebras, cocodrilos, jaguares, aves, etc. Esta cosmovisión forma parte de una orientación esencial en "Nabguana" o la Madre Tierra.

Según la cosmovisión guna del mundo éste está dividido en ocho capas, en donde el hombre vive en la superficie terrestre "Neg gunas" (de donde proviene el nombre guna), existen cuatro niveles debajo de la tierra y cuatro niveles arriba. Cada capa está habitada por espíritus y sólo los Neles pueden visitar estos lugares en sus viajes (mentales).

Otro elemento importante en la espiritualidad de los gunas es el nuchu son nuestros hermanos y hermanas mayores,  guerreros y guardianes  que cuidan nuestros hogares y a la gente de los espíritus malignos. Son seres inmortales, representados en madera tallada, que se encuentran en los rincones de cada casa guna.

The Guna people recognize their official religion to be that of Ibeorgun, who was the main Kuna prophet, who came to teach the way of life that should be followed, according to Paba and Nana (also the words for Father and Mother) as inseparable higher beings, not as parents, but rather using a different logic that is original and distinct to the guna.

The guna world vision consists of spiritual and substance elements; both are inseparable just as the spiritual and the material are inseparable. Both are present in all rivers, oceans, mountains, hills, forests, and rocks. It is for this reason that the so-called "Galus" are strictly respected as the specific homes of spirits, which may be found anyplace. There is a Galu for every being: for snakes, for crocodiles, jaguars, birds, etc. This world vision is part of the essential orientation in Nabguana or Mother Earth.

According to the Kuna world vision, the world is divided into eight levels, with human beings living on the surface of the earth, known as Neg gunas (this is where the name Kuna comes from), and this is the level that divides the others in half: that is to say that for the kunas there are four levels below the earth and four levels above, and in the middle live human beings. Each level is inhabited by spirits, either good or evil, and only the Neles can visit these places in their (mental) travels.

Nuhus are our older brothers and sisters - warriors and guardians - who protect our homes and our people from evil spirits. They are immortal beings, represented in carved wood, found in the corners of every guna home.
